CompTIA Network+® Certification
CompTIA Network+ validates the knowledge and skills of networking professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification that recognizes a technician's ability to describe the features and functions of networking components and to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services.
The industry identifies CompTIA Network+ as a skills standard for networking professionals. Industry leaders such as Microsoft, Cisco and Ricoh value and support CompTIA Network+.

How does my CompTIA certification apply to other industry certifications?
The demand for skilled network support professionals continues to grow, and CompTIA Network+ is a valuable credential to help start or enhance a networking career. In fact, many IT certifications integrate CompTIA Network+ into their curriculums. Microsoft added CompTIA Network+ into their Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) program, and other corporations such as Novell, Cisco, HP, Lotus and 3Com also recognize CompTIA Network+ as part of their certification tracks.

The Australian College of Information Technology A+ Certification Course

  Target Audience:
  This course is intended for students wishing to qualify with CompTIA Network+ Certification for Network Support professionals. It is also suitable for students wanting to improve their skills in Network support and administration.
  
  

Prerequisites:
Students should have successfully completed PC Fundamentals or have basic experience of using a PC, Windows and browsing the Web. The following key skills are recommended:

• Use a keyboard and mouse.
• Recognise the main components of a PC (such as case, monitor, mouse, and keyboard) and different data media such as floppy disks or CD-ROMs.
• Start the computer and navigate the Desktop.
• Use Windows Explorer to create directories and subdirectories; and move, copy, or rename files and directories.
• Use Internet Explorer to view websites.
• Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Network+ candidates have adequate academic training, along with a CompTIA A+ certification.
